Grand Master’s Awards
- Master Mason of the Year
- Worshipful Master of the Year
- Lifetime Achievement Award
These awards are among the highest honors that Mississippi Masonry can award. Recipients are nominated from among the Membership by their home Lodge. Lodges are encouraged to look among their local membership for the good men, Masons who have labored long and hard in the quarries for the benefit of their Lodge, their Brethren, and their communities, asking nothing in return. Each year the Grand Master selects one recipient for each Award from among the nominations received prior to the stated deadline.
Grand Lecturer’s Awards
- Expert Master Mason
Any Master Mason in good standing may receive the Certificate of Proficiency as an Expert Master Mason by proving suitable proficiency in the Catechism of the Master Mason Degree. A candidate for certification must be examined by a District Deputy Grand Lecturer, a member of the Board of Custodians of the Uniform Work, or by the Grand Lecturer. Upon successfully proving his proficiency in both the questions and answers of the Master Mason’s Catechism, the Grand Lodge awards a Certificate of Proficiency.
Watt Carter Award
- Trophy
This Award, named after Watt Carter, Past Grand Master and 40-year Grand Lecturer, is awarded annually to a District Deputy Grand Lecturer for outstanding service rendered to the Fraternity. The recipient is chosen each year by the Grand Lecturer and is awarded a recognition plaque and holds the Trophy in his possession for one year.

Scouter Award
The Daniel Carter Beard Masonic Scouter Award is an honor due to the countless Freemasons who practice the ideals of Freemasonry and act as role models to the young men who are part of one of our nation’s most outstanding youth organizations. The Daniel Carter Beard Masonic Award not only supports the Masonic relationship through the man who brought Scouting to America, but proclaims the integrity of the Freemason who is honored by receiving the award.
